Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a ruddy dark yet burnt purple almost brown color with a thin white foamy head that dissipated evenly. Lingering sticky lace.
The aroma bleeds Belgian spiced fruit. Yeasty effects take some place with a light bready to semi-white pepper background.
The flavor balances between the yeasty/breadiness and hits the fruit and the spice fairly decent. No aftertaste but it does have a quick sweet yeasty sort of finish.
On the palate, this one was about medium in body with a fair crisp carbonation about it. Bready malts slide over in a smooth fashion on my tongue.

A reddish amber ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, a sweet herbal caramel malt, burned notes, treacle, not bad. Half pint draft at Blind Tiger. Pours a deep hazy brown body with thin off white lacing. Tasted like your typical, traditional style abbey dubbel. Nothing to write home about.

On tap at Flatbread. The coloris a dark hazy amber with a niece beige head and lace. The aroma is sweet and malty. Bu sur place en fut (12oz seulement), le 26/9/08 (ma fête). Brune caramel brumeuse, un peu de collet. Arome de malte caramelisé aux pommes avec des notes d’épices sucrés. Goût sucré épicé très bien balancé, orge malté délicieuse et peu fruité, finission d’alcool réchaufant. Growler. Fruitty aroma smells like cherry and pineapple LifeSavers. Tastes similar to Westmalle with a nice dried fruitcake.
