Sweet nose with hints of fruit, amber color, foamy head. Sweet soft malt base with a blend of grains. Great balance with a warm round texture. Excellent beer all around. muzzlehatch (4975) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 5, 2007
Draught half-pint at the brewpub, early May 2007. Pours a bright, almost clear brass with a small lasting head....lovely caramelized malts dominate the big nose, touches of vanilla, thyme and oregano show up....fairly dry in the body, surprisingly, with reasonable maltiness for the style, cookie-doughish texture towards the finish, grainy, no hoppiness noticeable....somewhat strong carbonation, medium to full mouthfeel. Fine, but nothing really exciting. Nate (4296) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 15, 2007
On tap. Sour tang of rye and raw grainy mash liquor. Mild sweetness and light funky spicy bitterness. Bit of lactic aroma, too. Hazy dark amber with lacing off-white head. Medium body with medium fizzy carbonation. Bit of a tang. Starts with honey and grainy sweetness, mild caramel/biscuit, then some rye or other raw grain. Quite a bit of carbonic gaseousness and sweet/sour tang toward the finish. Good little hint of funky sour mash before light fruity bitterness. Clean finish and after with a touch of sweetness.
