3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft. Pours a dark amber color with a thick foamy tan head. Nose is very peaty malts with light salt and meats. Palate is thick and smooth. Flavors of resinous hops and biscuity malt notes.
Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a dark red to brown color with a thin white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Moderate filmy lace.
The aroma blends some raw citrusy hops with smokey sweet peaty malts. Light caramel notes. Subtle chocolate, and some toffee.
The flavor melds the smokey peat malts with the raw citrusy hops. Low semi-smooth smokey raw hop aftertaste running into the finish.
On the palate, oily raw hops want to grip my tongue into submission but those smooth sweet peaty malts help to tame the harshness nicely. Incredible balance, if anything. Light to medium bodied. Good carbonation.
Overall, smoked beer but could also be an IPA, hmmmm.... whatever, tis good. Radek Kliber (7501) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - JUL 5, 2013

Aromastrong- blend of high alpha hops with smoke. Sweet golden malts noted as well. Great blend.
Top: of-white creamy with some lace. Medium sized cap.
Base: hazy amber.
Palate : medium body. Good with soft body. Long lasting finish.
Taste: raw hops , sweet malts. Smoky phenolic top backed by IPA approach.
Other notes solid blending skills of opposite characters. Nice.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Cloudy dark amber body topped by a medium beige head
In long: Nose is only slightly peaty with also some leafy and wooden hops. Overall timid nose that evokes smelling an old tree branch picked up from the forest floor. In mouth the beer is surprisingly peaty, the peat almost overwhelmed the hops. A solid malt backbone, toasted wood, some caramel, rather yeasty. In mouth the hopping feels quite citrusy although I didn’t pick anything citrusy in the aroma. Nice dirty citrusy bitterness with residual sugars in the after-taste. Expansive carbonation. Spongy mouthfeel. Overall it was a fun beer with the peat, wooden character and citrusy bitterness all coming together surprisingly well. So here I am drinking beer, rating beers, again, and again, and again and always, there are time when I feel like my life is just one very long movie where I have the lead role in a biopic about myself.
pours a slightly cloudy orange color with a nice white head. peat smoked malts coming through in the aroma, very pronounced to the point where i can barely pick up the hops but they just manage to get through. wow! what an interesting brew... the peat smoked malts come through at first and really hit you but then the hops slowly come around for the finish. one hell of a brew! jamesewelch (259) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - MAY 14, 2012

On tap in Burlington. A light copper brew. Wonderful light smoky aromas. Flavor is interesting malty like a good scottish ale, but with more hop spice than ususal. Gets smoother as it warms. Very tasty and drinkable. Reminds me of a peat-smoked scottish ale I made a few years ago. Pawola22 (3262) - Woodridge, Illinois, USA - APR 18, 2012
On tap at American Flatbread in Burlington, VT. Pours a cloudy, orange-amber colored body with a finger-width, dense and creamy, beige head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is florals, peat, and a light caramel sweetness up front. A light earth, a touch of bread, and some citruses. Flavor is big peat malts up front with a nice citrusy floral hopping. A bit of a bready caramel malt backing keeps things balanced before the peat grows a bit smoky in the end as well as some earth and a few pines coming out with the floral citruses. Finishes dry and peaty with a medium earthy and floral bitterness as well as a balanced, soft malt backing. Lengthy aftertaste following a smooth, medium body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, I’m a big fan of this one. Plenty of peat, but a nice floral and citrusy hop backing with a soft malt balance. Really cool beer. Lubiere (14341) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - APR 13, 2012
A golden amber IPA with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, light peaty caramel malt with grassy hops, not bad. In mouth, a nice peated malt with smooth smokey notes, British hops, alcohol warmth. On tap at American Flatbread Burlington, April 7 2012.
