From the cask at the Real Ale Regatta. Poured a slightly hazy amber orange with a white head that dissipated to the edges and laced nicely. Aroma was a nice combination of citrus, light pine, maple and a hint of sweet smokiness all backed by some sweet grains. Flavor was similarly complex with less citrus but the same surprisingly nice maple and smoke combination backed by some light pine and grain. This one surprised me! On tap at the brewpub. This was a difficult beer to classify as the brewer calls it a "smoked maple ale", although it did not taste like either of these entities to me..Pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma of sweet malt and alcoholic sugars. Flavor of bland sweet malt, very sweet overall. There was no maple, no smoked notes. I was very disappointed by this as it had a lot of potential going in. Not a good beer for me.
