A dark reddish brown schwarze with a thin creamy brown head. In aroma, more like a chalky kolsch with light roastiness. In mouth, a light watery beer with faint chocolate malt, chalky notes, boring. On tap at brewpub, July 12 2010 jcwattsrugger (12418) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - JAN 29, 2012
on tap-pours black with a thin tan head. Aroma is roasty dark malt, some herbal. Taste is roasty/molasses-dark malt, some herbal hops, dark fruit. Sammy (12091) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 16, 2008
Black with excellent head. Enjoyed at the brewpub. SLightly malty aroma. Taste ius maty, on the chocolate malty side, a bit too astringent. Yet not bad effort. j12601 (10871) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - MAY 31, 2010
On tap at American Flatbread. Pours a deep brown to black with a medium sized beige head. Roast all over, a touch of plastic hiding behind it. A bit on the thin side, but with such a low ABV that’s probably to be expected. Nice roast character carries through before a slow roast bitterness. Tasty. jercraigs (10303) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 10, 2013
2013-04-28. Very dark brown black body, small foamy tan head. Modest aroma, dry roast. Hints at fruit? Flavour is similar, modest dry roast, fairly clean, dilute dark malt. Feels a but too light overall. Average to light bodied palate, carbonation suits it. Less fruity and a touch less roast but otherwise fairly similar to the porter. Decent but just okay overall. On tap at American Flatbread, Burlington

[5296-20130428] Tap. Lightly toasted malt grain aroma. Dark brown body with a medium-lasting foamy light tan head. Toasted grains and sweet malt flavour has a light sweet finish. Medium-full body. Tasty, simple. (6/3/7/3/15) 3.4

(Rating #1848) AirForceHops (7129) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - MAR 26, 2013
6 oz. pour @ the brew pub. Nose of light roasted malt and some lager yeast. Flavors of Chocolate malt and light smoke with the lager yeast noticeable again. Body is lighter which is NOT negative. Gives it added drinkability. Decent for the style. I would really like to have had a bit more chocolate and hop bitterness. This really could be much better if they refine the recipe. Zero gravity mr black
A rather sweet, almost floury black lager that does not have much roast character.

Gentle chocolate nuances. Solid, but redundant fruity depth, though sweet.
Lacking the refinement of their usual lagers. Quite sweet (caramel, brown sugar, toffee) where I’d like more roast. Not very tight body, lacking a bit in carbonation.
Dark brown body with a very small beige head. Grapes, raisins, more grapes and the more raisins. Dry bready malts with a very light roastiness flavour that plays second violin to the light fruity taste. Hints of chocolate if you try very hard. Overall dry feeling (yeast?). No hops noticeable. Body is light but not watery and the carbonation is aggressive, maybe too much so. Not at all flavourful. Boring. Mr Bland.
