Draft at the brewpub. Has all the visuals of a porter, nuff said. The beer delivers one of the better balances I’ve experienced between a choco-malt base and a nice, even bitter finish. Really, really good. (#5812, 10/9/2014) AirForceHops (7233) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - MAR 16, 2014
Draft @ Zero Gravity. Black color with little retention. Nose is a blend of chocolate malt and pine with some hints of fruit. Flavor is interesting. Lots of different hop nuances. Fruit, pine and light grassyness with a soild amount of chocolate malts. Nice balance of dark malt and plentiful hop addition. Low bitterness. Draft at Anerican Flatbread with Linh, Minh and Angela. Pours a deep black body with thin white lacing. Aroma is pine and mild roast. Mouthfeel is medium with a nice bright pine hop character complimented by a roasty malt flavor. Solid black IPA. PhillyCraft (7216) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 8, 2014
Sample at blackback, flavor and scent are cocoa, espresso, toffee, and pine hops. Lighter to medium body. Pretty solid but not a dank black ipa which few are. swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - DEC 21, 2013
Draft at Black back pub and Tevere Hostel. Dark black pour, lots of roasted malts, dark chocolate, piney hops. Balanced, nice

Really hugely flavorful with a robust ashy flavor that adds to the heavy hop bitterness. Makes it come off a bit astringent. That aside the flavors are great with loads of pine and some grapefruit with a backbone of chocolate maltyness. Ernesto987 (6050) - Arizona, USA - OCT 19, 2013
On draft, way too roasty and bitter and I like em bitter and roasty, just a big mean ash bitter bomb bellco33 (816) - Willington, Connecticut, USA - OCT 16, 2013
On tap at American Flat Bread / Zero Gravity: Pours a dark brown / black with a thin tan head. Aroma is mainly roasted malts, with a bit of caramel and pine notes. Great tasting beer, full bodied with aggressive waves of hops nicely balanced by the roasted malts. Slightly sticky on the palate, and the great flavor seems to coat the entire mouth. Really great beer, my favorite Zero Gravity pour that I’ve had. Fred82 (2324) - Québec City, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 3, 2013

Appearance : Pitch black with small head. Lots of lacing.
Aroma : Piny hops with roasted malts and coffee.
Taste : Resinous hops with piny juicy hops. Slightly earthy as well. Fairly bitter and fairly resinous. Oily finish.
Palate : Soft carbonation.
Overall : Pretty nice black IPA. A bit on the heavy side of my idea of the perfect Black IPA. Nice hops, nice malt profile. Nice juicy hops. Nice oily palate. Nice drink.
