Draught pint at American Flatbread. Hazy dark amber with very little head or lacing....light malty nose, faintly herbal, woody-grassy, but pretty basic and indistinct on the whole....woody, slightly bitter on the tongue, light fruity (apple, apricot), caramel-sweet qualities but again, nothing to really grab onto....a nice dry bitter kick at the end helps, but the watery mouthfeel keeps it, to sum up, pretty average and unmemorable. A shame, given that it was a collaboration between ZG brewer Paul Sayler and former Shed brewer Shaun Hill. Oh well, even great brewers have off batches....
