Draft at American Flatbread - Poured a orangish amber in color with a small white head. Aroma was mild of spicy hops and some maltiness. Flavor was somewhat hoppy, but the beer was not that strongly flavored. A bit disappointing actually. Finishes with some hoppy bitterness. Overall... not impressive. kwoeltje (2233) - Manchester, Missouri, USA - OCT 25, 2007
(draught at restaurant) orange-amber with off white head. Mild malt aroma with perhaps a hint of hops. Flavor is caramel malt with a light hops finish. jcwattsrugger (12420) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - OCT 10, 2007
on tap-pours a light tan head and copper color. Aroma is medium malt-hint of chocolate. Taste is plenty of medium malt-hint of chocolate, roasty, secondary hops (sterling/English?). Smooth. OK carbonation. notalush (5878) - Denver, Colorado, USA - AUG 5, 2007
Tap at the brewpub - burnt brown/copper pour, with a lasting head - more of an american hop profile in the aroma, but that can be forgiven - toasty, with light caramel and roasted nuts throughout - a touch of mineral flavor makes the beer taste more "authentic" - one of the better beers I had here. hophead75 (2012) - Largo, Florida, USA - APR 13, 2007
on tap at the brewpub. amber in color. Aroma is malty and earthy hops. Taste is on the malty side with a nice balance of floral hops. reminded me of an english pale more than ESB but still not too bad.

On draught at American Flatbread. Pours reddish with a thin pinkish head. Smells of bitter hops and malt. Taste lacks the fruitiness of a good ESB and is on the hoppy side.
Clear amber-orange assorted with a fitting off-white cover. Sweet caramelized malts dominate the flavour profile from the beginning until the end, appearing just a tiny bit underattenuated. Backing hops are mostly citrusy, hinting at a pretty good balance in the nose that does not concretise. It rather grows an accustoming bready toastiness. Light bodied, rather watery texture, active carbonation. tiggmtl (4545) - East York, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 22, 2005
Mild caramel malt and earthy, herbal hops in the nose. Clear copper coloured body with low off white head that recedes to ring. Citrus hops and caramel malt flavours blend nicely with moderate finishing bitterness. Medium body with carbonation that feels somewhat slow. Sampled on tap at the brewpub with beerbuzzmontreal, MartinT, muzzlehatch, Rastacouere and Yowie. MartinT (9880) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 5, 2005
UPDATED: APR 16, 2007 The Lure:
Petite flowers and leaves grow under the fruity caramel maltiness. Subtle, but well positioned.
Citrusy and floral hops are ably balanced with the caramel and papaya fruitiness. Carbonation cannot overcome the important caramel, which is appreciated in this well-crafted, malty bitter to accompany your scrumptious pizza.
