En fût. Pinte dégustée chez American Flatbread (Burlington, VT). Arôme: Odeur de framboises avec une pointe de chocolat. Apparence: La couleur est brune opaque. Présence d’un mince col mousseux et d’une fine dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Goût de framboises non sucrées avec une pointe de noix et de chocolat. Durée moyenne de l’arrière goût. Palette: Le corps est moyen avec une texture légèrement minérale. Moyenne effervescence en bouche. Présence de framboises en arrière goût. The look: Dark amber body topped by a medium beige head
In long: Nose has a lot of raspberries and some brownies. Taste is a successful risky blend of flavours that I don’t think I have ever experienced in a beer. On one side you have a lot of crunchy toasted nutty malts, hazelnuts, brownies, brown sugar sweetness. On the other side you have a lot (and I mean A LOT) of tart acidic raspberries. The attack is initially sweet and nutty and quickly the raspberries take over and the beer ends with the tart acidic finish. I didn’t think this blend of flavours could work. Not only does it work but it is excellent. Great beer that gets a few extra points for originality. Wicked beer, I briefly lost my ability to speak. Although it might have been due to the half large-size flatbread pizza I was trying to cram in my month at once. I don’t know. The important thing is I was drinking a great beer and eating a great pizza while you were not.
Tried on Beer Quest 2010 with all the guys. This was number 17. Pours a dark Brown with nice lasting head. Aroma is medium hops and raspberries. Flavor is the same. Nice action on the tongue.

On tap at the brewpub in Burlington VT. Pour is murky dark brown. Taste is malty, lighter than a stout with nice rasp tang. A lot like southern tier raspberry porter.
