Hazy dark brown color, tan head. Malty, roasted, herbal taste. Roasted aftertaste. Medium to fizzy mouthfeel, medium high bitterness. Roasted, mineral scent.

Reading. Flight. 01/11/16. Chocolate coffee aroma, but vague. Dark brown. Red hued in the light. No head. Sour. Yeasty. Some bitterness. Light bodied. Not great.

Scopey (14014) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 29, 2015
Keg at Zerodegrees Blackheath. It pours hazy/murky deep brown with a small beige head. The nose is earthy, plenty of dirty sulphur, burnt egg sandwich, sweet roast, manure, rivita and burnt toast. The taste is bitter-sweet, earthy roast, rivita, cocoa powder, slight stickiness, pepper and weak coffee grounds with a dry, toasted finish. Light - medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Wow that aroma is very off-putting. Taste is better, but still not great. A poorly executed beer for sure.

Origin: Tap. Vessel: Tumbler. Supplier: Zero Degrees (Bristol). Very little nose but heavy hit of roasted malts when tasted. Gives way to rising smokiness.

Keg. Appearance is black, with a half-finger beige head. Aroma- hops, chocolatey malt, cocoa, spice hints. Taste- crisp, hoppy lager, with hints of milk chocolate and dark malts. Interesting stuff.

Pours quite dark with little tan head. Roasty, caramel, liquorice aromas. Taste follows the nose. Nice and tasty dunkel.

Aroma: roasted malts, grain, chocolate. Appearance: black, small, creamy, beige head. Taste: light sweet. Palate: malty sweets coming up quickly, grains and toasted malts again, lively carbonation. Overall: decent Dunkel, quite well-balanced. Pint at Zerodegrees, Blackheath.

Beese (2571) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - APR 15, 2014
Draught at the Reading Zerodegrees Brewpub on 22 March 2014. Poured a dark brown, with a halo of rocky, beige head. If I didnt know better, I would have assumed that this was a pint of cola. Aroma of burnt sugar, toasted malt and rye bread. Dark malt flavours, with notes of brown sugar and chewy grain. Finish was bread, liquorice and grassy hop. Definitely the best of their beers that I tried.

Dark with a beige head that lasts nicely. Rich roasted malt, brown sugar, caramel, some dry hop to balance - really nice beer, easily the best of the three I tried.
