Right there with Shiner Bock in my book. Who needs all those imports when you have both of these.

a quality texas brew. i had already polished off about a 12 pack of shiner when we got to the ol' zb, so i'm not sure what it tasted like, but its made in texas, so it has to be good

Another great Texas beer. A nice American Dark Lager brewed exclusively for Texans. Love it

this beer rocks and when you can get it on tap, do yourself a favor and give it about 2 or 3 before you make up your mind.

This is a better Texas bock than Shiner. It’s not as crisp as Shiner Bock (and fellow AB bock Michelob Amber Bock), and it’s not as strong as the German bocks. This is probably the best beer put out by AB.

Pours a clear amber color with a thick frothy head, very light carbonation. Has a light caramel scent, you can also smell the hops. The taste is smooth, you can taste the hops and a light caramel flavor as well.

I thought I was buying an indie brewed beer and was suprised when I popped the cap and read the label as to the brewer being a Macro that I don’t usually drink anything from. The Bock pours out a dark rick brown color. Similar to Mulholland Bros Stout color in their leahter goods. Nice head coming out of a bottle. There seems to be a hint of smokey oak in the flavor. Aroma is hoppy. It went well with a dinner of shephard’s pie. I would drink this again.

Ziegen Bock, only available in TX. Pretty strong, but no bad after taste. Lots of flavor. Good all around beer.

unusual combination of the light taste of a lager but with a hint of heavier dark ales
