Quack-Duck (9490) - Down South, GERMANY - JUN 4, 2008
bottle. Clear golden yellow, medium-size head. Bitter-sweet with resiny hops, solid malty background. Hints of wet cardboard. Not brilliant, but quite allright.

UPDATED: JUN 2, 2008 500ml can. Don’t know if this was the same beer. Just said ’heller’.
Pale yellow, big frothy head. Sweet fruity lager aroma. Slightly grainy taste. A bit watery. some hops but the hops segue into alcohol. Boring. Probably fairly drinkable to lager drinkers, but not my bag.

raymondwave (931) - FINLAND - APR 26, 2008
Bottle 0.66 l from Tallinn, as "Original Import". Pale hay yellow, lacy white head. Nose is a bit hayish with some berries and fruits. Flavor is spicy grassy bitter with some sourness and maltiness. Bitter aftertaste. A bit peppery and stingy flavor. Flavorful and ok lager.

evilsoc (191) - WALES - APR 22, 2008
On a recent trip to Innsbruck I found this to be the most palatable widely available lager. The dry herby hops provide enough bitterness and theres enough residual sweetness to come across as slightly fuller than others in its class.

A nice, but average european lager (from 50 cl bottle). Nothing to really scream about here, but still a very nice, drinkable flavorful lager.

Jukkabro (3484) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAR 15, 2008
(BBE 1/08) Yellow colored with lively carbonation, medium sized white head. Somehow corny and papery aroma, is this due to BBE... Some fruits and lemon also present. Medium bodied, crispy carbonation. Flavor is cleaner with fine hops and fruits, still this same paper and corn here somehow. Aftertaste is soapy with mild metal and dry hops. Well, not too balanced but some good tones here still.

altonbrownd (5897) - Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA - MAR 8, 2008
Bottle in Gerlos, Austria. Golden colour. Small head. Starts a bit malty. Sweetish, slightly. Then hoppy and watery. Okay.

Pale golden beer, small but delisicious head. Some malt aroma and flavour, hoppy-sweety taste, a bit watery texture.Sweet-hop finish. Drinkable but not an exciting one.

33 cl bottle. Clear golden colour with a huge white head. Sweet malty aroma with notes of grass. Sweet flavour with a bitter finish, very ordinary, but sweet.

Poured from can. Pours a clear yellow-gold with very minimal carbonation and a very minimal head. Smells very grassy and slightly hoppy. Taste is actually a little complex. Malty up front, finishing hoppy and a little sweet. Kind of intriguing. Nevertheless, I lump it in with a lot of the other Austrian beers I’ve had. They all taste remarkably similar. Ever heard of variety, Oesterreich?
