3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear copper pour with a 1 finger beige head. Aroma of caramel, bready, toast, light fruity esters and spicy and planty hops. Flavor is nutty and lightly roasty up front, then some caramel, crusty bread, cereal, some fruity, floral and herbal hops and a light minerality to the finish. Light body, creamy, to slightly syrupy entry, medium carbonation and dry finish. Solid brew overall.
12oz bottle. Unfiltered thick brown-amber body. Maybe a little thicker, heavier than a Dusseldorf Alt. Does have some mild nutty tone, so you could easily call this a nut brown as well. Lacks what I consider the hop balance of an Alt. Nitpicking aside, this is still a pretty enjoyable beer, which piques my interest in the brewery. Can shared at DCLawyer’s, thanks Chris! Clear amber with beige head. Aromas of malt, caramel. Tastes of malt, caramel. Light body with a dry finish. bigcat03 (334) - Columbus, Nebraska, USA - JUL 1, 2017
UPDATED: JUL 1, 2017 Bottle poured into an altbier glass. Red/copper hue, lots of visible carbonation, and a huge tan head. Aroma has lots of caramel and chocolate malts with a little hazelnut in the mix. Initial taste is very nutty with some roasted and spice notes as well. Aftertaste is lightly roasted. Palate is light with very little carbonation. I’m not sure the style on this is right. It tastes like an English Brown or an Amber. Very drinkable and a nice break from all of the heavy IPAs I’ve had lately. RobertDale (6764) - Lansing, Kansas, USA - MAY 1, 2017

Flavor is lightly Yeasty then some caramel, cereal hrain, mild hop level. Light body, smooth texture, medium carbonation. Easy to drink.
Poured into a stange, the appearance was a semi-deep brown color with some amber hues along the edges. Creamy colored finger’s worth of white foamy head. Dissipates slow. Slight messy lace.
The aroma had some toast, nuts, sweet meat. Then roast and a touch of chocolate.
The flavor blends the sweet to the roast fairly nice. Some earthiness and then a touch of spice. Crisp sweet to roasty aftertaste. Touch of sweet meat in the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine for what it projected.
Overall, good as a beer. Altbier-wise, well, I want to say that "sweet meat" I was getting was supposed to emulate German lager yeastiness. Me, I’m not sure, but I would have this one again for me. Altbier lovers, you might like this, but I almost want to say that the brewery didn’t use a German alt yeast in this. mjmoen (584) - - FEB 27, 2017
B. Pours a clear copper color with khaki head. Very drinkable, just a touch watery TH28 (474) - - SEP 16, 2016
12oz bottle. No apparent code dating. Appearance: Deep brown with a touch of amber, with a slight haze, and a moderate light tan head that lingers quit well with nice lacing.
Aroma: Toasted bread, nutty, with a light chocolate roast. Very nice.
Taste: Moderate toasty malt sweetness, with a nutty crust malt flavor that dominates, with a touch of roast and moderate bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate mouthfeel.
Finish: Dry toasted bread, with a touch of light roast.
Overall: Very tasty beer here, but if you blindfolded me I’d qualify this more towards a Nut Brown/English Brown/Porter than a German Alt. Doesn’t have the high bitterness to match that style. Still, I love the nutty, toasted malt character here rdixon77 (2956) - Georgia, USA - JUL 2, 2016
Tasty alt. Nice roasty and caramel malts, but still
