COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Zipline Brewing Co.’s Country White Ale is a sessionable farmhouse ale—the product of our efforts to design a summer-time Belgian-style ale. We wanted a fresher and more drinkable brew than the typical “Wit” style, so we used a farmhouse yeast strain to achieve a dryer, more drinkable profile. To further separate the Country White from the Wit style (which is commonly brewed with dried orange peels), we used fresh Valencia oranges throughout the brewing process to add a hint of citrus to the beer. And, to maintain a strong local tie, we use 200 lbs of Nebraska organic, rolled white wheat in every batch. After you park the lawnmower, Country White Ale will be waiting for you all summer long

Hops: Santiam & Glacier
Malts: Pils, Victory, and Rolled White Wheat from Nebraska

On tap at Zipline in Lincoln. Pours a yellow color with white head. Spicy, yeasty, coriander aromas. Very spiced, yeasty, wheat flavors. A little too spiced for my taste.

On tap at the brewery. Clear light yellow appearance with a white head. Aroma has white pepper, light citrus, sweet wheat, and hay. Dull carbonation. Some coriander and spice. Light lemon. Dull herbal flavor. Blah.

While it doesn’t quite upstage Zipline’s Kolsch, Country White might become another go-to summer beer from my favorite hometown brewery. Yellow pour with a nice head. Lively effervescence in the body. Yeast and grain aroma with some hints of spice. Bread, citrus, clove, pepper, and a little banana in the flavor. Smooth feel and dry finish. Overall, a really tasty Wit.

UPDATED: MAY 25, 2016 Sampled at Brews at the Zoo. Lightly sweet, a bit spicy but it more feels like it can?t decide what it wants to be as opposed to complimenting each other. A little thin on the palate and not enough carbonation. Not bad but not something I would spend money on. 5/3/6/3/12 Re-rated 5/25/16: Bottle into a Stella chalice as suggested on the bottle. Pale gold with a quickly dissolving white head. Sweet and spicy aroma with wheat and a little pine in there. Taste is much the same with a big soir note that fades to pine... almost like a happy gose. This beer is still trying to do too many things and is failing. 5/3/5/3/10

Draft. Cloudy golden body with a frothy white head. Aroma of clove, toasted grain, lemon peel. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly acidic. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Light raw grain aftertaste. A weak stepsister of Hoegaarden.

Tap at Crescent Moon. Pale washed out yellow pour. Small head. Minor aroma. Some wheat and mild citrus. Fairly bland.
