Bierkrug (2129) - - NOV 10, 2010
500 ml fliptop bottle in Germany. Is a dark brown color with a very full light brown lacy head. A malty sour mash aroma. Taste is light carmel, fruits, and metals. Palate is the weakest part of this beer. Palate is very short, malty and again with slightly bitter metals. Not bad over all.

50cl Bottle from Aktiv Markt. Clear dark amber colour, foamy off white head. Aroma of sugar, caramel, malts, a bit sweet. Flavour is sweet, brown sugar, toasted malts, caramel, light drying bitter finish. Light to medium bodied. Seems a bit artificial somehow.

Cherry wood color body with a off-white head. Moderate lacing. Smelt of malt and smoke that’s also in the taste; also some baker’s chocolate. Small bitter aftertaste. Unfortunately a bit watery but still a descent beer.

Swing top 500ml bottle. Roasted malt and fruit aroma. Brownish-amber color. Mild flavored dark beer with tones of roasted malt, caramel and spices. Fairly sweet with little bitterness.Overall, nothing really stands out with this one. however it doesn’t do anything wrong either. Decent commercial dark beer.

This pours like coke and has hints of roasted malts in the aroma. This is a rather smooth beer with a lot of different tastes and good for a normal dunkel.

Ober (2811) - Bommelerwaard, NETHERLANDS - NOV 29, 2008
It’s clear dark amber/brown beer, with a thick beige head. The aroma of caramel malt, some dark fruits and sweets. The taste of slightly dark fruits, caramel malt with bitter sweet and hop. At the end a little smoked. The aftertaste is sweetish.

50 cL bottle. Pours almost clear and golden deep amber with a fully diminished white head. Medium dry and malty with a vague roasted note and mild bitterness. Smooth malty yet not sweet caramelish. Somewhere betweenbreadish and roasted. Smooth and easy.
