This is a very nice, drinkable pilsner. Not Checzvar but certainly not Heinekis. Pleasantly hoppy with a good body and substantial flavor

Deep golden beer, slightly hazy, small white head..leaves Ok lace. Great strong pils aromas, of grassy hop and considerable malts. Nice semi-sweet maltiness to begin, then a lemon type hop taste, followed by more grassy hopping in the end. Ok on the palate. Not a bad beer..good drinking lager.

Tap. Pours a clear straw-gold with a small white head. Aroma is grassy hops with a bit of spice thrown in for good measure. Taste is malt and grain, with barely-there spice and floral hops detectable at the end. It’s surprisingly complex for the style.

Bottle. This is not 12%...it’s 5%. Pours like a light lager with a small head. Aroma is like a typical bad import with some grass and weak hops. Too sweet from the malt and little or no body- mostly grass flavored water. Very boring and too expensive. Simply another disappointing exotic import. A totally butchering of the Bohemian Pilsner style. Would not recommend.

Pours pale gold with weak head. The aroma is grainy, sugary malt sweet along with floral hoppiness. It smells pretty good for the style. The taste has malty and graininess to go along side a pulse of spice and floral hops. Just as in the aroma this seems pretty solid for the style.

The aroma is bitter and skunkie with faint hops. The body is cloudy yellow with a small cream head. Taste startes of with a sour bite then a corn and grass taste. dry crisp finish with good carbonation.

Bottle. Poured a hazy golden-straw color with a fluffy white head that didn’t last. Nice malt aroma with a pretty good hop presence. Nice bready malty flavor with a well balanced hop bite. Medium mouthfeel for an easy drinking lager. I liked this, especially sice it wasn’t skunked despite being in a green bottle.

troopie (2341) - Munchen an der Willamette, Oregon, USA - AUG 17, 2008
Bottle. Poured dull gold with fast dissipating white head. Much lacing. Aroma of hops and new mown hay. Flat malt flavour. Not much depth or breadth. Fast disappearing finish, bit more malt, mpt memorable. This looked good, smelled good, but turned very ordinary.

11/08 0.5 l can from a gas station somewhere around Trencin, Slovakia. Poured lighter golden body with medium sized head. Standard malty aroma, grass hopped, seemed to me more than 10° version. Slightly sweet malty flavor, flowery and a bit grassy. Some hops are felt in the finish as well, as lightly sour notes of overall sweet brew. Not bad, relatively full bodied and pleasant, but still boring and as such far from something good.

0.5l can courtesy of and shared with heavy who brought it from Slovakia (thanks!)
Poured a clear golden colour with a small-medium head that went away fast. Soft oily nose, fruity, some hop. Soft, sweet malty taste, boring, with maaaybe just a touch of alcohol. Some hoppy, lemony acidity. Weak hop presence really. A gentle standard international lager, nothing special but better than the average.
