500ml Bottle - Golden in colour with a small white head. Malty aroma with a hint of sweetness. Malty and slightly sweet taste with a hint of citrus. Not bad and quite refreshing when served cold on a hot day. HogTownHarry (7086) - Toronto (Harbourfront), CANADA - APR 17, 2012
February 15, 2011. Shared by garthicus with blankboy and me. 500ml bottle. Clear deep gold with a small quick-diminishing pancake batter off-white head. Modestly offensive aroma - sugar, weeds and light soiled diaper - not the worst, but pretty ugly. Taste isn’t thaaat bad - like cheap apple juice with liquid paper and a splash of homemade vodka. Average body, weak carbonation, harsh aftertaste. Oh why, why, why? swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - FEB 25, 2014
can, Sochi Russia. another uninteresting pale eastern Eurpoean lager. Pale yellow, corn, bad zvikar (6575) - Ramat Gan, ISRAEL - MAY 10, 2015
Pours yellow with a small head, aroma of grain, corn, flavor of plastic, rice, light bodied. Gurthnar (6293) - Bratislava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - JUL 29, 2014
Directly from can, 5.2% ABV. Nothing great to be written about this beer. Some light grainy astringency appears, but otherwise empty.

This is brewed by Kaluga Brewery Company not far from Moscow. The Kaluga brewery is part of the SAB giant, and also brews Miller Beer under a 5 year licence agreement which runs out in 2005. The recipe is supposed to date from 1875, although the brewery only began making it in May 1999. This is quite popular in Russia and could be compared to Bud in terms of quality and market appeal. The English translation is Golden Barrel - Classic. Best avoided. Aurelius (5659) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - OCT 20, 2004
A sorta pickle-y smell. I liked the gold label. Brothy, lightly sweet, underhopped. A bit watery. An herbal/vegetable broth finish. djoeye (5419) - Tromsø, NORWAY - SEP 26, 2013

Золотая Бочка Классич& - Classic Golden Barrel.
50cl aluminium can from a supermarket in Kremenchuk, Ukraine.
Says that Efes Ukraina, Donetsk, SAB Miller stands behind it.
Pasteurized bright beer. 12’ and abv 5%.
Pours a head taller than average, bumpy foam, leaves fields on its way down.
Body is bright golden, rare and tiny bubbles.
Scents of bread, grassy hops.
Tastes malts and hops, the carbonation, something sweet.
Feel is alright, but sweetness and carbonation disturbs.
Aftertaste; bread, rye bread, syrup, malt.
Overall it’s coming well at the end. Pale lager with some premium elements. 34437=2.1
- Re-Tasted 10SEP-2014; fruitiness in aroma, buttery notes in taste, feels fruity on palate. [email protected]
in Baltics. Seems to have been improved a bit. New 4-4-4-3-8=2.3
0.5 L bottle as ЗОЛОТАЯ БОЧКА Klassicheskoe. Pours a brilliant clear pale golden, topped by a finger of fully diminishing white head. Sweet-scented bread and wort to the nose. Taste is fairly clean malty. On the sweet side with bready and grainy malt flavor. Some bittering hops underneath. Light to medium full. Slick texture. Sweetish malt ending. Just about a decent euroloager.
