Bottle:   Deep ruby, brownish hues, moderate to thin off-white head, spotty lacing.   Biscuity nose, and oddly enough a slight hint of corn tortilla.   Malty tongue, slightly bready, even a little sweet.   Not
half bad.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Lingering soft bready malts after the finish.   Better than I was expecting. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - DEC 28, 2009

Potent bready currant aroma with lots of tobacco and raisins. Dark brown-garnet with an off-white, wispy top. Sweet, biscuity flavour with a little brown sugar, raisins, and lots of bread crust. Low bitterness with balance towards sweet. Medium body, low carbonation, sweet, nutty finish. Probably a very good dunkel, just not a style that I like. A pretty nice dunkel here, and one that I didn’t expect to be quite as good as it was. Bought for $1.00 at Big Lots!. The beer pours out a deep purple/brown color with a 1" off-white head. Aroma is toasted bread, slightly sweet with a bit of nutty almond note. Earthy chocolate flavor, raisins, a bit of malted sweetness. Not bad at all.
