Pours a dark brown red hue with a small light tan head that lasts only a minute. Aroma is faint but offers some chocolate and roasted malt. A bit of coffee in the flavor along with some unmalted barley and a hint of anise. It is dry and just a bit earthy but flavor, like the aroma, is faint. The excite-o-meter barely twitches with this one. McTapps (6889) - Reutlingen, GERMANY - JAN 5, 2013
Bottle shared with MichaelBruch. Deep amber in colour with low head. Nose of malt. Taste of brown bread, cereals, low malt and roasted nuts. Not really that easy to drink and not really delicious. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - JAN 3, 2010
Bottle:   Deep ruby, brownish hues, moderate to thin off-white head, spotty lacing.   Biscuity nose, and oddly enough a slight hint of corn tortilla.   Malty tongue, slightly bready, even a little sweet.   Not
half bad.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Lingering soft bready malts after the finish.   Better than I was expecting. MichaelAwesome (6519) - Wanne-Eickel, GERMANY - JAN 6, 2013
Bottle shared with McTapps. Pours in deep brown with nice head and bit bigger carbo than usual. Lot of malty coffee aromas which I don´t like. Definitely a quality beer but not hitting my nose nor my taste. Cletus (6355) - Connecticut, USA - NOV 26, 2010
Pours dark brown with a tan head. Smells of raisins, prunes, some chocolate. Tastes of light chocolate, some licorice hints, spicy, semi-sweet finish. Enjoyable.

dark bread, toast, roasty, red golden, clear, white foam, light sweetness, lightly bitter, medium body, creamy, soft carbonation, nice harmonic beer. jfb (6256) - GERMANY - AUG 14, 2013
(bottle) pours a clear deep ruby colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of dark fruit and roasted malts, slightly metallic, with a hint of bread dough. flavour is mostly roasted malts and yeast, quite grainy, with a light herbal-hoppy finish. medium-bodied with average carbonation. Bottle. My label states this to be 4.7% ABV. Copper pour. Sturdy, slightly rocky, tan head. Nose is sweet malts, toffee, soft spicy hops, and dark fruit. Taste is slightly more hoppy with creamy malts, light toffee, dark fruit and yeast notes. Some dark bready flavors as well. Body is light-medium and has a strong but slick carbonation. Not overly bubbly. Ends with more dark fruits, bread notes, spicy hops, and toffee. Toasty malts come through as well. kappldav123 (6100) - GERMANY - OCT 7, 2010
Bottle looks simple, but good, beer in the glass dark brown, nice head. Starts malty and dry, a bit rusty, some fruity notes of raisins, also some very nice smoky notes. Finish mild, well balanced, still malty and dry. Good dunkel! jaghana (6064) - Strasbourg (Alsace), FRANCE - JUN 22, 2014
Bottle 50cl, a clear amber brown beer with low head. Nose is on sweet caramel, toasted caramel and bread touch. Aroma is on the same but the body is very watery, finish is low, hops notes are low too, bready, light burnt caramel.
