COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

ganache (5901) - New Jersey, USA - AUG 12, 2008
Bottle, 25th rating for this brew. Mine lists 4.7% abv. Lovely nutty nose, sweetly malty with some well-lagered funk and a hint of spice, Schwarzbrot with toast and just a hint of toffee. Coke-colored pour edging toward ruby with a dense, creamy tanned head. Smooth, creamy, slightly tart taste, light nuts with caramelized sugar, subtle toast, and slight funk. Medium-light body, very quaffable. No trace of alcohol, and classy all around. A lovely Dunkel, one to savor!

Cornfield (5570) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - NOV 19, 2008
The bottle that I picked up at the Friar Tuck in Bloomington, IL, listed this as 4.7% ABV. It poured a deep, clear reddish brown with a creamy, sustained ecru head that provided plenty of lace. It smelled of sweet wort and caramel and tasted pretty much the same but stopped just short of being cloying. Not bad.

3.3
jkwood04 (5448) - Connecticut, USA - JUL 26, 2010
11.2oz bottle in a shaker. Pours slightly darker than cola with a thin beige head. Aroma of roasted malts and peanuts. Flavor strong of nuts, roasted malts, butterscotch notes, and a little hops at the end. Full bodied and average texture. A pretty good beer.

3.5
nearbeer (5419) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 31, 2008
330 ml. Translucent, deep mahogany with a small head that lasts and leaves some soapy lace. Molasses, earthy cereal grain, and a hint of maize in the aroma. Front flavor is caramel-cocoa; turns ever-so-slowly to whole grain cereal sweetened with chocolate-molasses. Slight dry finish of flour and grassy cocoa. Light-medium body is nearly in the middle on all accounts: carbonation, mouthfeel (watery vs. sticky), and dryness.

3.5
Bamsen78 (5400) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - AUG 29, 2014
Bottle. Pours clear darkish copper brown with airy but stable off-white head. Clear aroma of yeast, caramel malt and hops. Bitter, hoppy onset, giving way to sweetish notes of caramel malt and subtle fruity touches. Estery finish. Lively carbonation. Well-balanced and easily drinkable. A decent Dunkel.

emacgee (4676) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - MAY 5, 2009
Pours a dark copper with some ruby highlights. The head is one finger thick and offwhite. The nose is earthy, lagery, malty, bready for sure, sweet, caramel, a tad nutty. The flavor is malty, kind of sweet, caramel, nutty. Tastes like an English Brown lagered.
