Potent bready currant aroma with lots of tobacco and raisins. Dark brown-garnet with an off-white, wispy top. Sweet, biscuity flavour with a little brown sugar, raisins, and lots of bread crust. Low bitterness with balance towards sweet. Medium body, low carbonation, sweet, nutty finish. Probably a very good dunkel, just not a style that I like. This one was a bit gusher. Deep red, not much head (beige head vanishing quickly). Strong aroma of dark bread and malta. Medium-bodied. Rye bread, caramel and soya sauce in the toasted flavor. Dried dark fruits. Simple, kvass-like flavor. Actually this tastes more a bock than typical dunkel, just lacks alcohol.
Geruch malzbrotig, schwach röstig. Beginnt entschlossen dunkelmalzig, leichte Röstnote. Mitte würzig, dunkelmalzig. Herbwürzig abschließend, bittert moderat nach. In Ordnung. Borup (14551) - Albertslund, DENMARK - DEC 25, 2015

Dark and very red, thin head. Toffee and faint chocolate in nose. Bit of cinnamon in the palate, a bit toas.ted. Drinkable in a session-sort of way, but certainly nothing special. SkyCop32 (287) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - DEC 20, 2008
This is dark with a little head of tan color. This is supposed to taste like pralines, but I did not get that, but I did get some toffee and chocolate. Drake (13742) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 7, 2009

08-Mar-10 (330-ml bottle: Purchased 09-Feb-10 for $3.99 at Ledger’s Liquor in Berkeley, CA) This pleasant German dunkel pours a rich, clear, medium-brown body and a one inch foam cap that is dark-tan in color and shows good retention, slowly settling to a thin, but complete layer. The nose is very malty with dark bread, light earthiness, milk chocolate and some nuttiness. Fairly bready on the palate, with chocolate, lightly sweet cocoa, toast and nuts, and a hint of grassy hops in the finish. The beer is showing signs of some mild oxidation, enough to be distracting, but not enough to render the beer undrinkable. The oxidation, however, is not the beer’s fault. Light-medium in body, gentle carbonation, and some dryness in the finish. Some spotty lace on the glass. A decent beer, easy to drink and fairly straight forward.
