500ml bottle. Best before Jun 2013. It pours a clearish gold with a limp soapy white head. Smell is light grain, light yeast, slight fruitness. Flavor is mild, more hoppy than the normal perhaps but mostly grain, soft floral character. Its not terrible.

Idiosynkrasie (7848) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - MAR 7, 2013
330ml bottle. Clear golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Strawy and grainy aroma. Taste is slightly grainy, minimally sweet pale malty, bitter hoppy overtones with a touch of hay and grass.

Draft at uber. Pours a crystal clear pale gold with a loose white head. Nutty, corn toasty nose. Creamy light body with bright fizzy carb. Corn, nuts, and toast on the mid palate. Mild finish.

The 50cl bottle pours with a clear pale gold color and supporting a nearly bright white head of foam. The aroma offers up some nice smelling bitter floral like hops some sweet breadiness and malts as well as a touch of lime like citrus. The taste delivers a pleasing hoppy bite to start and stays well ahead of the under current of malt sweetness. The bitter hops are sort of floral and have just a dash of earthy grapefruit peel. The sweetness has sugar malts mixing with a mild sweet malty breadiness followed by a brief moment or two of pear to sweet green apple esteriness. It ends with a nice lingering hop bite that washes away any sort of sweetness that has built up. Overall not all of the flavor components are what I find stellar in a Kolsch but the balance and execution I do enjoy. I’d do this one again.

Medium gold, some froth/lacing,some debrie. Some skunky citrus/lemon grass/spicey. Taste is same with smoothness and nice fullish body, good crisp spicey-tang in finish with citrus/spice.Some mild grassy/herbal maybe.

jookos (6973) - FINLAND - JAN 21, 2013
Bottle. Paleish, clear. Pale malts on nose, a bit of green hops. Medium-light body, doesn’t feel too skinny. German ale yeast, golden malts, light fruityness. Quite a lot of the yeast flavour actually, gives it a craft beer- vibe. Quite good.

RexTalionis (3782) - FINLAND - JAN 18, 2013
Bottle 50 cl. Pours clear golden in color with a small fast disappearing whitish head. Buttery notes, sweet fruityness and faint hints of hay in aroma. The taste is slightly on the sweet side with some light grassy hop bitterness. Sweet fruity with a nice light bitter finish makes this an really enjoyable kölsch. Good stuff.

Aroma is fruit and slightly perfumed. The flavor is pale malts, an undercurrent of fruit a tangy/somewhat smooth finish.

330 ml bottle. Pours clear golden with small white head. Fruity aroma, mild fruity taste with a bit of bitterness. Mild palate, slightly bitter. This is very enjoyable, especially for a kölsch!

Small white head. Clear golden colour. Sweet fruity aroma with hints of bitterness. Uncommonly spicy taste for a kölsch. Bitter palate. Good one!
