One of my favorite styles and they did it very well. The alcohol doesn’t push over 10% like many imperial stouts, so you get all the roasted coffee taste without getting the rough medicinal aftertaste. It doesn’t have the complexity that everyone expects from an imperial stout, but it is pretty much my favorite beer flavors done just right. If there are a dozen things on tap at ZwanzigZ I would probably still pick this one every time, it’s so good. Bamsen78 (5562) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - MAY 17, 2014
Bottle at America Strikes Back, Ulfborg. Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy tan head. Clear aroma of malt and coffee, with notes of chocolate. Bitter, roasty onset, giving way to sweet notes of malt, coffee and chocolate. Roasty and sweetish aftertaste, with hints of cofee beans. Warming alcohol presence. Good.

Growler shared by b3shine- thanks again, Beau! Pours a deep brown color with a small khaki head. Aroma of roasted and toasted malts, chocolate, nuts, molasses, and dust - has a very dry-roasted kind of character to it. The same can be said for the flavor. Light-medium bodied, with a smooth, roasty mouthfeel and low-to-moderate carbonation. Simple imperial stout that has lent itself well to experimentation.
