Smell is malty! Like fresh wort, nice. Also some caramel and light spices.
Taste is watery sticky metallic, quite subtle. Mainly caramel with some biscuit. Nicely balanced. Nice fizz.
Tap @ Zwiebel bar at Soester Weihnachtsmarkt, small sample. Clear brown color, medium frothy head. Aroma of toffee and caramel, herbal and spicy hoppiness. Nice typical German herbal and grassy bitterness, slight sweet notes from toffee and caramel. Preferred the power of the Weihnachtsbock, but certainly no bad stuff. 100cl bottle. Pours hazy chestnut brown with a big beige head. Aroma of malt, some caramel. Taste is light roasty, sweet malt, caramel, light hoppy, average Dunkles.

Aromas of fresh, slightly sour yeast, among bready, sweeter malts. Has a spicy hint to it, with a subtle bitterness, while floral hops add a lovely note to the beer, providing an almost honey-like impression, while blending into the malts.
Tastes of an enjoyable, floral bitterness among bready, slightly toasted malts. A sour, dough yeast note, as well as spicy clove become visible, while a fitting, higher carbonation provides a slightly metallic note. Has a great balance, with a complex malt backbone, in which toffee, rustic bread and bitter coffee become visible. Finishes with a crisp hoppy bitterness, accompanied by slightly sweeter malts.
Brown in the glass with a light beige head. The beer starts dry, a bit smooth, but not that easy drinkable. Very dry and slightly roasted. The mainpart is full flavoured, but still a bit watery. On tap at Zwiebel in the quaint town of Soest pouring up in a range of hues from gold at the edges to copper then to an amber core supporting a solid half inch tan head. The modest aroma offers up some caramel malts, caramel candy (just a touch) and faint vague hops. The taste is smooth bringing in caramel malt notes and then a mild level of roasted malts and spicy to floral hoppiness. Into the finish I get a pleasing malt graininess joining in and adding depth and interest to the experience.
