Swingtop; a self-pourer. These bottled Zwickls are feisty little chaps- have a glass at the ready. Orange hazy with an uneven, climbing white head. Mixed-up, yeasty aroma; slightly vegetal, thistle-like with fresh sappy hop over a warm malty base of peanut butter on toast. Even some lemon rind and banana. Champagne-like, airy, effervescent with more of that fine, sappy, earthy hop character mingling with sesame and toasty malts. Carbonated to the point of fizziness but wickedly easy to knock back once it’s stoppped foaming. An education. And quite unlike any beer I’ve ever had. Except the zwickl I had the other night. Bottle courtesy of Bierkrug - as always, thanks! This beer is pretty tasty, but I didn’t know what a Zwickl was before looking it up on Urban Dictionary: Grima (2394) - Merzkirchen, RLP, GERMANY - APR 26, 2012
A. To steal something in a rude manner.
B. To be exceptionally awkward.
C. Someone who is kind of a huge bitch.
Thanks Urban dictionary!
The beer in the glass is bright yellow, slightly cloudy, with a soapy-pearly head. It smells yeasty, lemony, slightly grainy, with some aroma hops. Starts very malty sweet, with plenty of grain and a slight sourness. The middle part shows very hoppy, with a lot of grain and yeasty sour notes. Goes into a yeasty, sour, hoppy and very malty-grainy finish!

Bottle 500ml. w. swing top.
Clear medium orange yellow colour with a large to huge, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, toasted, hay, light hoppy, light yeasty. Flavour is moderate to light heavy sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration, sweet malt, grainy, malty. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
It’s slightly hazy darkish golden with a creamy, white head. The aroma has notes of malt, grain, flower, light yeast, and a little parrot feathers (thats a compliment). The moderately sweet flavor has notes of malt, grain, flower, light bread and yeast, and the finish is slightly dry.
