DruncanVeasey (8063) - NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - NOV 26, 2006
UPDATED: DEC 8, 2006 A touch of faintly smoky malt in the nose. Bright gold lagery pour. Gently malty with some subtle, cereal-like afternotes. Rice and maize? Not a sniff of hops. Desperately watery and neutral-tasting for a 5.5 percenter. Partially redeemed by the handy beer-thermometer on the bottle.

probstblueribbon (3790) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 24, 2006
500 mL bottle from LCBO. App.: med. straw colour with a foamy white head. Aroma: somewhat cereally, sweet, a bit floral/resinous hoppy. Tight. Palate: med. carbonation and body. Flav.: malty and cereally, a bit fruity up front, just a hint of hops when swallowed and a hint of bitterness to finish. Subdued. Certainly not awful, but certainly not great.

berkshirejohn (6278) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - NOV 21, 2006
50cl bottle: strong floral aroma when poured, but this seemed to fade rapidly; golden colour with a strong white head falling backing quickly to leave some lacing and moderate carbonation; very full in the mouth, with malt predomiating; leading to a sweet aftertaste. A robust lager when compared to western european examples.

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2007 Before Id really discovered beer, and was used to drinking Labatt 50 and other macro stuff, I discovered this beer and thought it was the best thing Id tasted. Now I realize that I was wrong, but Ive noticed this as a trend of sorts. Lots of people I talk to tell me that Polish beer (this one in particular) is the best beer theyve had. I can understand why, because compared to North American macro stuff, this is heavenly nectar. Anyways - 500ml bottle - pours yellowish gold with a decently sized pure white foamy head. This is not extremely carbonated like other lagers, which is nice. The aroma is fairly non-distinct, but sweet and malty. The taste is also sweet and malty with some fruity, floral hops, along with a bit of corn flavour in there that I could do without, but otherwise is quite well balanced. For the style, Id take a Pilsner Urquell over this anyday, but this isnt bad and definitely drinkable. The best of Polish lagers for my money.

11/8/06: Bottle.
Yellow body with no head or lace. Light wheat nose with a touch of lemon. Flavor has a medium malt sweetness and hints at spice. Finish is clean.

TheGrandMaster (2335) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - NOV 7, 2006
UPDATED: NOV 13, 2006 Draught, clear and carbonated straw colour. A little bit of malt in the otherwise neutral aroma. Quite sweet, with a touch of hoppiness. Not much here really though.

I have a friend who claims this is his favourite beer. Obviously hes new to drinking beer, but I have to say this stuff isnt bad at all. It really has a Pilsener taste to me which I quite like. Malts dominate the flavour and aroma. Quite a well balanced beer overall though. Id gladly have this one again.

This beer isnt bad at all. Im not sure why its being trashed on ratebeer. One of the better lagers Ive had. More malt flavors than most lagers.

50cl bottle, Winnipeg. Pale golden colour, think foamy head. Light carbonation, allows sweet malty flavour to come through. Very nice beer for this style.

Pale color. Full malty taste, short finish with some bitterness. All right, nothing more.
