Czekolada, pumpernikiel i niestety dużo alkoholu. Średnio wytrawne i dosyć kwaśne z nieprzyjemnym posmakiem.

W biedronce w dobrej cenie. Piwo ma dobry wygląd. Ciemne. Smoliste. Berzowa, kawowa piana. Do końca pozostaje w postaci wysepek na powierzchni i kręgw na krawędzi. W zapachu na pierwszym planie słody charakterystyczne dla koncernowych lagerw. Delikatnie mokry karton. Zapachy te ulatują z każdym łykiem i do głosu dochodzi kawa. W smaku przede wszystkim alkohol. Agresywny i wyraźny. Jest pewna wytrawność i goryczka i kawa.

2015 BJCP Category: 9C Baltic Porter

AROMA: Rich malty sweetness with notes of toffee, currant, licorice and chocolate. A faint Port-like quality. No hops or overt booziness. 11/12

APPEARANCE: Seemingly black but actually deep brown with mahogany highlights. Clear. Very large dark tan persistent froth. 3/3

FLAVOR: Deep, elegant sweetness of dark malt (not roasted per se) with confectionery/dark fruit flavors but at no point cloying. Distinct flavors of toffee, black licorice, dark chocolate, and a slight cherry or black currant flavor. Fresh bottle has a medium-high hop bitterness and slight earthy/spicy flavor. 18/20

MOUTHFEEL: Full-bodied with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. CO2 is medium. Alcohol presence (taste and warmth) is remarkably restrained. 5/5

OVERALL IMPRESSION: Pretty much a perfect beer for the style. Style guidelines were almost assuredly written based on this brew. 10/10

TOTAL SCORE: 47/50

Aromat śliwki, słodko-gorzkiej czekolady, lecz niestety rwnież metaliczności. Kolor ciemny z rubinowymi przebłyskami. Piana szybko opadająca. W posmaku przeważają praliny oraz kawa. Odczucie przyjemne, choć wyraźnie wyczuwalny alkohol przykrywający goryczkę. Nasycenie średnie. Warto sprbować, zważywszy, że cena zachęca.

Bottle, best before October 2017, probably just few months old. Pours very dark brown with small, but mostly lasting beige head. Aroma of plums, dark fruits and chocolate. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light bitter, lots of plums, dried fruits, chocolate. Bitter finish with a bit of alcohol, leaving bitter chocolate aftertaste. Medium to full body, soft carbonation. Tasty baltic porter, but I see room for improvement - it needs some aging.

Pours jet black with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, plum, dark bread, alcohol. Taste is medium sweet, medium bitterness. Flavors of plum, dark bread, dark chocolate, some coffee, alcohol. High robust body, thick texture, medium carbonation. Tried it many times and while it may not be the best Baltic porter available in Poland, its definitely one of the most consistent brews.

Half-liter bottle from a random mini-mart in Poznań. Essentially black, with some dark brown highlights if you squint in the light just so. Light brown foam, sticky lacing. Nose of dark caramelized sugar, roasted nuts, figs. Begins sweetish before rolling into a roast-bitterness, getting boozier in the finish. Lingering roast-bitter aftertaste, and last kiss of dark sugar. Medium-heavy body, not as thick as some of the bolder new-wave ones, but plenty rich enough to enjoy.
