500ml bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a dark cola color, revealing hints of ruby-red translucence when held up to a light. A two-finger mocha head is formed with a beautiful creaminess and very strong retention. As it slowly recedes, it leaves behind large sheets of lacing down the glass. S: It’s very forward in dark fruits, chocolate, and molasses. Distant notes of roast, coffee, and mild hops are hidden behind the sweet maltiness. My only real problem is how mild the aroma is - which is a shame, because it’s good otherwise. T: Sweetness opens the flavor profile strongly, with strong caramel, dark fruit, and chocolate qualities. This will transition to a very roasty, mildly hoppy finish. Hints of earth and booze pop up on the back end, as well. While it’s a bit boozy, it doesn’t really hinder its drinkability, thanks to the mildness of flavor. It even has a bit of depth to it. The booze note gets stronger as it warms up, so drink cold. M: A bit on the thin side, with a typical crisp lager bite on the finish and strong carbonation. It’s almost as if this is designed for drinkability over richness; in regards to the former, it’s pretty successful. O: This is a very dangerous brew. It’s inexpensive and drinkable, with only mild hints to suggest its actual strength. While not fantastic, it’s a great way to get drunk on the cheap(ish) - I know I’d much rather drink this over some crappy Euro malt liquor.

Rumbero (84) - Miami, Florida, USA - JUN 21, 2017
This is a review for a 2013 0.5L bottle (yes, past its prime) Appearance: pours black with a 1/4 espresso-crema colored head with decent retention. beer is fully opaque. no lacing. Aroma: mostly roasted malts, some chocolate and burnt toast and a faint vinousy character. Taste: light roasted malt flavors, hints of chocolate (or cocoa powder) and dark fruits, raisins. the bittering is also subtle but manages to balance the malts well. Palate: medium-full bodied, with a creamy, rich texture. moderate carbonation and mild astringency. the finish is sweet and long but very smooth, almost to the point of muted, with a slight alcohol warming at the very end. Overall: although over two years past its best by date, still drinkable and does not show any detectable oxidation or autolysis aromas or flavors but... its definitely has lost most of its complexity and turned into a bit of a muted or uninteresting experience

tranzzik (5) - Sieradz, POLAND - JUN 18, 2017 does not count

Opada do malutkiego pierścienia, minimalny lacing. Aromat: Czekolada deserowa, kawa, karmel i przypieczona skórka chleba. Czuć alkohol. Zapach raczej słodki. Smak: Palone słody, czekolada, kawa, karmel i skórka chleba. Potem dosyć wyraźny alkohol, grzeje w przełyk. Wysycenie średnie, treściwość średnia, goryczka średnio intensywna - palona.

Aromat: czekolada. Piana: drobno pęcherzykowa beżowa. Smak: mocno alkoholowy, wytrawny, wyczuwalne nuty palonych słodów, wyczuwalna kawa i czekolada.

buki (293) - Otwock, POLAND - JUN 7, 2017
Zapach: Karmel, ciemne słody
Wygląd: Czarne, nieprzejrzyste aż do głębi, piana nikła, ale to wybaczalne
Smak: Palony karmel, czekolada deserowa, kawa, likier kawowy, pralina.

TH28 (447) - - MAY 28, 2017
500ml bottle. 11/24/17 BB date. Appearance: Deep dark brown, almost black, opaque, and a low lying dark khaki head that dissipates quickly. Aroma: Rich bready, toasted crust, and dark fruit of plum and raisin. A touch of molasses and sherry. Taste: Rich deep toasted bread, chocolate, and sticky molasses up front, then a distinct dark fruitiness of raisin and cherry witha touch of spice. Just enough perceived bitterness to prevent the sweetness from being cloying. A touch of wood as well. Mouthfeel: Medium to heavy bodied with some stickiness and light carbonation. A slight of alcohol warmth hits on the swallow. Finish: All malt. Strong toasted bread is dominant on the finish, with a light nutty character. Overall: Outstanding beer, with a complex rich bread maltiness and dark fruit character reminiscent of a doppelbock. A touch of wood and chocolate as well, with an alcohol warmth in the backside to remind you this is a monster beer. Perfect for cool night out by the fire
