Founded in Burton-on-Trent as J. Marston & Son in 1834. They bought the Albion Brewery in Shobnall Road from Mann Mann, Crossman & Paulin Ltd in 1898, and still occupy the site. They merged with John Thompson & Son Ltd in 1898 and Sydney Evershed Ltd in 1905, following which they were known as Marston, Thompson & Evershed. Taken over by Wolverhampton & Dudley in 1999. Wolverhampton & Dudley bought the Jennings Brewery in 2005 and Ringwood Brewery in 2007, changing their name to Marston's in the same year. They have since acquired Thwaites (2015) and Charles Wells (2017).. In 2020 the company was merged with Carlsberg UK.
