Dag van de Lambik - Day of the Lambic
Details
On Saturday 11 December 2010 the House of Gueuze is organising the 3rd Day of the Lambic. The theme is the art of brewing lambic and the arts surrounding the lambic culture. In lambico artes.
Most people don’t not know anymore what lambic is. Therefore, we want to put the oldest (still existing) beer in the world in the spotlight. Lambic has become very rare in pubs and it is unique that one can taste so many genuine unblended lambics in one place.
Lambic contains only four ingredients (wheat, barley, hops and water) and is the basic beer that is used for the production of geuze, kriek and other spontaneous fermentation beers.
More than 16 unblended lambics (joenk, old lambic, kriekenlambic,...) from 9 breweries (Boon, Cantillon, De Troch, 3 Fonteinen, Girardin, Lindemans, Mort Subite, Oud Beersel en Timmermans) will be presented.
The tasting event starts at 3 p.m. and is being followed at 8 p.m. by a café chantant.
Cost: free entrance
