Bierfest is a family-friendly and community-supporting event. Supervised childcare and ‘beer-less’ designated driver tickets are available. In addition to gastronomic delights and fun and games, Bierfest attendees will enjoy access to unique educational opportunities, like the Brewer’s games, the Brewer’s Discussion Panel on ‘Lager-Love and the Resurgence of Session Styles’ at 4pm in the historic Horner Memorial Library.

The panelists will include some of the state’s leading German-style brewers and session-beer advocates:

Appalachian Brewmaster Artie Tafoya
Pennsylvania Breweries’ Author Lew Bryson
Artisanal German Beer Importer Lars Dahlhaus

Bierfest 2013 will also feature a guided tasting seminar for VIP ticketholders, led by sommelier, author and Philadelphia Daily News columnist Marnie Old before the main event kicks off. One of the country’s most sought-after speakers on wine and beer, Marnie’s lively presentation style will bring entertainment-value to beer education as she explores the diversity of German beer styles, reaching well beyond pale lagers to include sour wheat beers, cold-fermented ales, malty bock beers and inky schwarzbiers.
