Night of the Flight Volume IX
For our ninth installment of Night of the Flight we’re serving up quite a match up. Three Floyd’s will be going up against Revolution. Three Floyd’s has long been considered Chicago’s craft beer of choice but Revolution is starting to come on strong. Revolution has just broken into ratebeer.com’s top 100 breweries where as Three Floyd’s has slipped to #2 for the first time in 7 years. Can a changing of the guard be on the horizon?
The Three Floyds beers on tap for the night will be
+Brian Boru Irish Brand Red Ale is a very rich caramelly ale with toffee, citrus, and pineapple aroma. Brian Boru is brewed with several malts and Amarillo hops.
+Arctic Panzar Wolf is a massive IPA that will leave your palate it’s hapless victim. Scorched earth is our brewery policy.
+Gumball Head is an American wheat beer brewed with red wheat and boat loads of amarillo hops gives this summer brew a lemony finish. The slight haze in the bottle is from the bottle-conditioning, where yeast is added to the bottle for a secondary fermentation.
+Rabbid Rabiit is their saison that is smooth and elegant, light body, creamy mouthfeel, light spicing from coriander and orange peel give a wonderfully malty/spicy sweet ale. Big alcohol lurking underneath a light and frothy exterior
The Revolution Brewing Company beers that will be featured will be
+Galaxy Hero an IPA that shoots a raygun blast of Galaxy and Zythos hops into your mouth and leaves a crisp, dry finish.
+A Little Crazy is a citrusy and refreshing Belgian-style pale ale hopped with Cascade, Citra, and whole Crystal hops for massive aromas and flavors! Fermented with our Belgian Wit yeast for an extra dose of complexity, this one is very drinkable and extremely aromatic.
+TV Party Rye IPA is a crisp refreshing rye IPA is the latest installment in our Repo Man soundtrack series. The toasty rye flavor is nicely balanced with a floral, spicy hop aroma to make one potent yet drinkable ale.
+Very Mad Cow is a full bodied, dark, creamy, smooth and “freshly milked” stout. Aged in Woodford Reserve Barrels for 7 months.
