The DC Debut of Green Jack Brewing Company from Lowestoft, England!

Our good friends at Vanberg & Dewulf Imports have unearthed some outstanding English craft-brewed ales, and--on Tuesday, May 21st--we will be featuring five draft selections from Green Jack Brewing Company!

The Green Jack Brewery is installed in a former herring smokehouse at the end of Love Lane in Lowestoft, Suffolk, England. Therein Tim Dunford – the idiosyncratic, playful and witty founder/brewer – produces a stunning range of small batch, site-specific, Belgian-influenced beers. They are not widely distributed – mainly sold in Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Cambridge – but the craft beer cognoscenti prize them for their balance, originality and finesse.

All Green Jack beers are brewed with Flagon winter barley, and are all grown and malted in Norfolk (among the best barley in the world in most growing seasons). Moreover, all are fermented with the same four strains of English ale yeast – which can be traced back over 100 years – and use whole flower hops. This is a stupendous little brewery and we think you are going to be delighted by them!

On tap for the evening will be Rippa, a sort of Belgian Tripel meets English Strong ESB, Red Herring, one of the few--and finest--Smoked Beers brewed in England, Lurcher Stout, a sessionable Black Ale, and two classic British Bitters: Gone Fishing, a classic ESB, and Trawlerboys, a Best Bitter of 4.6% abv.

There is no admission fee for this event and all Green Jack Drafts will be priced individually in 4 oz. tasters and in full-glass pours.
