Grand Rapids Beer Week kicks off at HopCat GR with a Perrin Brewing Co. tap takeover, featuring eight beers on Monday, February 17. On draft will be:

Malted Milk Ball Imperial Porter – Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Porter – 11.3%
This sophisticated ale was made with cocoa nibs, malted milk and French Polynesian vanilla beans and aged for nine months in Woodford Reserve bourbon barrels.
**Malted Milk Ball recently won a silver medal at the 2013 Wood & Barrel Aged Festival

Hopwood – Oak Aged Imperial IPA – 9.0%
Aging in American White Oak barrels imparts a wine-like flavor and aroma, complimented by the floral and fruity character of the hops used. Hints of oak, coconut, fresh melon, and passion fruit throughout.

Stoutwood – Oak Aged Imperial Stout – 9.0%
The American White Oak barrels this stout is aged in brings out notes of fruit and coconut, complimenting the smooth dark malt characteristics of this beer.

Barrel Aged Sustana-tor – Bourbon Barrel Aged Doppelbock – 9.8%
This bourbon barrel aged version of the Sustena-tor brings hints of vanilla, bourbon, and dark fruit to the lush, full body of this dark lager.

Wood Aged 1885 Kona – Bourbon Barrel Aged Coffee Porter – 5.7%
A blend of Bourbon Barrel Aged Kona Brown with their Woodford Bourbon Barrel Aged 1885 Porter creates a beer that is light in alcohol, yet has a gracious amount of oak.

Kingdom of Tonga – American Vanilla Porter – 7.0%
Vanilla beans from- you guessed it- Kingdom of Tonga are used in this dryer variety of porter, highlighted by chocolate, coffee, and a subtle caramel touch.

Rye of the Liger – American Rye Pale Ale – 5.2%
Centennial and Citra hops are merged to create the hybrid Citrennial hop, creating a complex and citrusy pale ale with hints of peppery rye.

Razzberry Blonde – Raspberry Blonde Ale – 4.5%
Light, crisp, and sweet with a wet kiss of fresh raspberries.

The beers will be on draft starting at open, 11:30am. Come on down and enjoy a beer or even all eight. 5oz pours will be available along with full pours.
