Downtown Do The Brew
Downtown “DO THE BREW” is a craft beer tasting event featuring over 100 craft beers from more than 40 different state, regional and national breweries. The purpose of the event is to bring the unique taste of craft beers to South Central Nebraska residents and raise money for the Hastings Community Arts Council. ONLY 700 TICKETS WILL BE SOLD TO THIS EVENT! – THIS IS A 21 AND OVER EVENT.
The event will be held at the Hastings City Auditorium located at 400 N. Hastings Avenue. Doors open at 4:00 p.m. and the beer tasting ends at 8:00 p.m. TICKETS ARE $25.00 in advance or $30.00 at the door and can be purchased at the Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce, Murphy’s Wagon Wheel, WineStyles or right now by clicking on the Purchase Ticket Tab above. Your ticket includes admission to the event, a commemorative “DO THE BREW” tasting glass and four hours of craft beer tasting.
WILL THERE BE FOOD AT THE EVENT? - Yes, food vendors will be on hand and a variety of food will be available at an additional cost.
I DON’T LIKE BEER; WILL THERE BE WINE AT THE EVENT? - WHAT? – You don’t like beer! While that is hard to imagine, WineStyles of Hastings will be providing a selection of wines at an addtional cost.
WHAT BREWERIES WILL BE AT THE EVENT? - There will be craft beers from over 40 breweries at this event including; Beck’s, Big Sky, Bitburger, Blue Blood, Blue Dog, Blue Moon, Boddington’s, Boston Beer, Boulder Beer, Boulevard, Breckenridge, Chameleon, Chick, Czechvar, Empyrean, Fruli, Game On, Goose Island, Gottberg, Great Divide, Hacker-Pschorr, Kirin Ichiban, Landshark, Leffe, Leinenkugel, Lucky Bucket, Modelo, New Belgium, Odell, Pacifico, Red Hook, Scrumpy, Shock Top, SKA, Sprecher, Squatters, Stella Artois, Tall Grass, Thunderhead, Tommyknocker, Twisted Pine, Wasatch, Widmer and Zywiec.
WHO RECEIVES THE PROCEEDS FROM THIS EVENT? - Proceeds from this event go to help fund the Hastings Community Arts Council. The purpose of the “Council” is to nurture, coordinate and celebrate arts, artists and culture in the greater Hastings area.
DO DESIGNATED DRIVERS HAVE TO BUY A TICKET TO BE ALLOWED INTO THE EVENT? - We encourage and welcome designated drivers to our event, however the event is a fundraiser and everyone in attendance must purchase a ticket andBE OVER 21. NO EXCEPTIONS!
WILL THERE BE A SHUTTLE SERVICE PROVIDED? - YES! This year a shuttle service will be provided by Good Samaritan Village of Hastings. They won’t pick you up, but if you make arrangements with the driver he will deliver you to your home or hotel within the Hastings City limits. PLEASE don’t ask the driver to take you to another bar or restaurant. Shuttle drivers will be instructed to deliver attendees to a home or hotel/motel.
ARE INFANTS OR CHILDREN ALLOWED INTO THE EVENT? - No one under the age of 21 will be allowed into the event! This includes designated drivers who must be 21 years of age. No infants, toddlers or children are permitted. A valid photo ID must be presented at the front door to enter.
