Hillbilly Haiku Music Festival
After much planning, we are happy to announce tickets are on sale for our annual Hillbilly Haiku American Music Festival! This years concert is scheduled for August 29th 5-11pm, at our Bloomington Brew Pub. The lineup will feature Lydia Loveless, Kopecky Family Band and our headliner, Murder by Death. Doors will open at 5pm with performances starting at 6:30pm.
Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the door. They can be purchased at our Bloomington Brew Pub, online at hillbillyhaiku.org and at the Buskirk-Chumley Box Office.
The night will include live music accompanied by our cold brews and food fresh off our grill. All proceeds from this event will go to the Sycamore Land Trust, a land conservation organization whose mission is to preserve and restore the beautiful natural heritage of Southern Indiana.
People of all ages are invited to attend this concert series, children under the age of 12 and four legged friends are free. We are excited about this years lineup and hope you will all come out to enjoy an evening with Upland.
Opening this year’s festival is Lydia Loveless. Loveless is an alternative country singer-songwriter from Columbus, Ohio. Her music combines classic country, honky tonk, and punk rock. She is stopping in Bloomington during her summer long tour, check out her website lydialoveless.com
Kopecky Family Band will be showcasing their thoughtful songwriting supported by a diverse background of sound, ranging from clanging tambourines and guitars, to booming percussion, intelligent string arrangements, and triumphant horns. This year’s headliner is Murder by Death, a five-piece national touring band known for blending rock, Americana noir, and post-punk styles, using an electric cello to create a gothic sound. The band originally formed in Bloomington in 2000 and has since become a household name in the Midwest.
