History and Hops with Mad Fox Brewing
Hailing from Falls Church, Virginia, Mad Fox Brewing Company was established in 2008. All of Mad Fox’s craft beers are brewed on-site in their 15-barrel Premier Stainless brewing system, using the finest ingredients sourced from across the country and internationally as well. At their brewpub, Mad Fox showcases up to ten standard, house-brewed draught beers on tap as well as a rotating selection of seasonal brews in German, English, Belgian and American styles.
The brewers expect to be serving:
Sandy Eggo IPA - 7.9% ABV, 83 IBU
Brewed with English pale and crystal malts, kettle hop additions of the American varietals Simcoe, Columbus, Centennial and Amarillo from the Pacific Northwest are blended, then added four separate times. Two dry hop additions of the same hops are added post fermentation to brighten the hop flavor and aroma. Sharp piney hop flavors jump out in the aroma, followed by silky caramel and citrus peel. Hop flavors reminiscent of rosemary, grapefruit peel meld with caramel malt backbone. Makes for a truly euphoric West Coast style hop experience, hence the name.
Lindy’s Weiss- 4.4% ABV
Our traditional Bavarian Hefe Weizen with a twist, we added Oregon cherry puree to make our summer seasonal fruit beer. Brewed with 50% German wheat malt and 50% German Pilsen malts that is very lightly hopped. Yeast fermentation flavors of bananas and clove meld nicely with the cherry flavors creating a light, refreshingly fruit flavored bit of summer.
Funk (Cask) - 6% ABV
Take our Saison, dry-hop with a big helping of our favorite Citra hops and you get The Funk. Saison brings its yeast-driven earth and spice notes as well as a honeyish malt. The dry-hopped Citra brings its orange citrus hop flavor. The combination is eminently drinkable and evolves as it warms in your hand.
