Short Fuse Tap Takeover

Details

Tuman’s Tap & Grill hosts Short Fuse Brewing Company, which is based in Schiller Park, Illinois, for a tap takeover featuring five of the independent brewery’s beers. The tapping showcases two one-off seasonal releases from the brewery’s We Want the Funk Kettle Sour Series: Berliner Weisse, which is brewed with red raspberries, cherries and blueberries, and Kiwi Margarita Gose, which is brewed with lime zest, sea salt, kiwi and agave. Citra IPA Bomb, Loosey Juicy IPA and Bear-ie White round out the tap list. See below for additional information on the featured beers.

The beers will be tapped at 4 p.m. on Thursday, August 23 and the Short Fuse crew will be in-house from 7-9 p.m. There is no cover charge to attend and beers range from $6-$7 each. Tuman’s Tap & Grill is open from 4 p.m.-2 a.m. on August 23 (beers on offer while supplies last).

BEER INFORMATION/TASTING NOTES

Berliner Weisse, We Want the Funk Series, Seasonal One-Off, 4% ABV
This sessionable beer features sharp sourness balanced by the addition of red raspberries, cherries and blueberries. Light bodied with a somewhat dry finish; tart and refreshing.

Kiwi Margarita Gose, We Want the Funk Series, Seasonal One-Off, 5.5% ABV
Based on the traditional German-style Gose; brewed with lime zest, sea salt, kiwi and agave. Mild tartness mingles with the adjuncts to bring out the hints of margarita. Light body and low bitterness.

Citra IPA Bomb, Limited Release, 7% ABV
Modern India Pale Ale with American-based hops such as Citra, Mosaic and Amarillo. Potent floral and citrus aromas. Late boil and dry-hop additions of Galaxy and Mosaic hops bring a clean, pungent citrus aroma and flavor with no lingering bitterness.

Loosey Juicy, Core Beer, 6.4% ABV
A New England/East Coast-style India Pale Ale made with generous amounts of flaked wheat, rolled oats, and massive amounts of American and New Zealand hops. The body has a natural protein haze from the unique grain bill. The nose contains notes of citrus and tropical fruit. Extreme hop profile without the typical hop bitterness.

Bear-ie White, Core Beer, 4.8% ABV
A crisp pale wheat ale, brewed with loads of pilsner malt to give it a smooth, crisp and refreshing flavor. The color is very clear yellow; easy drinking body with a long-lasting head. The finish has very low bitterness and a pleasant sweet ending with hints of mixed fruit (reminiscent of gummy bears).
