SEP 3-7 (Tue-Sat): 33rd CHAPPEL BEER FEST, EAST ANGLIAN RAILWAY MUSEUM, CHAPPEL & WAKES COLNE STATION, near COLCHESTER, ESSEX, CO6 2DS. Friendly, All-Essex Festival, organised by CAMRA as a Fund Raising Event for the East Anglian Railway Museum and held at their HQ (adjacent to Chappel & Wakes Colne National Rail Station).

Open 530pm-11pm Tue; 11am-11pm Wed, Thu, Fri & Sat. [Fri Eve is ALL Ticket – purchased in Advance. No Entry after 530pm without a Ticket, but if you enter before 530pm you can stay all evening]. 400 Beers (featuring New/Rare & Local Brews), 50+ Ciders & Perries. Hot & Cold Food, Commemorative Glass £3 (refundable, if returned undamaged). Goods Shed, Restoration Shed Tent, Shunters Arms, Brewery Bars, Cider Tent. Entertainment Thu, Fri & Sat eves – see Fest Wbsite for dtls. Admission: Tue Eve, Wed (All Day), Thu before 530pm or Fri before 530pm £3.00; Thu Eve from 530pm £4.00; Sat £4.00 (All Day); Fri Eve £7 (only as part of a pre-purchased Ticket). NB: Fri Eve Tickets are valid for entry all that day. Tickets from wbsite. Free Admission for card-carrying CAMRA or EARM members and Holders of Greater Anglia Season Tickets to/from Chappel & Wakes Colne, Bures and Sudbury, except Fri Eve, when Members pay £2 (only as part of a pre-purchased Ticket). Purchase of Beer & Cider is by £10 Token cards – unused tokens are fully refundable. By Road: Just off the A1124 – near the viaduct in Chappel village – SATNAV Post Code CO6 2DS. By Rail: On the Marks Tey to Sudbury branch – off the London (Liverpool St) to Colchester main line. Late evening train service see Fest Wbsite (below) for dtls of special extra trains run by Greater Anglia. Camping avail but very limited space on busy nights – tickets must be pre-purchased for Friday & Saturday nights from the Website at £10 per night (which includes a £10 Beer Token Card that is to be collected on arrival), sorry no refunds for ‘no-shows’.
