327 but I’m never really happy with trying beers everybody else thought were great, unless they’re tart or mild beers. I wonder how many of these are impy stouts & IPA.

360 for me, but I have never tried to complete this. Have the book packed up in a box somewhere. Lots that I could probably trade for too, but think I will just keep getting them accidentally.

I’m at 347. The book was given to me as a gift prior to leaving Germany. I did hunt down a lot of the German and Belgian beers prior to coming back to the States, and then used it a bit to reacquaint myself with the American beer scene. Now, I look at it every once in a while. But I think that a fairpercentage of the beers in there will never see the light of day again.
Agreed. They need an updated version.

320, seems a little low for all the rates I have.
To be fair, the only reason I’m at 200 is because I have actively sought them out. There are many beers I would not have given a chance to if they weren’t in that book, and I’m glad I did because my palate has expanded so much because of it. A few of them have shocked me at how good they were, based on my opinion of the style. I’ll always point to Tripel Karmeliet as an example of a style I used to loathe but now I look for even if they aren’t for the book. Especially if it comes from a brewery I have really enjoyed (I bought Gouden Carolus Tripel today).
Tripel Karmaliet is my benchmark for the style. Best ever was a draft version in Brussels....

I’ve had 162 of the first 200, but then only 256 of the other 801...418 overall.

I imagine! I’ve never had a Tripel come close. That is a beer everyone should try.

I have a similar thing happening. I’m missing 10 from the first page.

A shameful 50% of the first 200

I just really need to end up in Europe at some point, start in the UK and then go continental. I’d have to plan a week each for Belgium and Germany alone.
It sounds like a trip to Franconia would do your heart lots of good. I’ll be the first to encourage you to take the plunge and buy your plane ticket ASAP. ;-) But, yeah, you can’t go wrong with any of those options. It’s now been a over year since I’ve visited northern Bavaria, and I’m itching to return.

One day! Hopefully before I hit retirement age.
