What’s the cut-off, then?

I don’t think any beer that uses fractional freezing to boost the ABV over 20% belongs on this site and having them here pollutes the database with spirits pretending to be beer. Why not just add scotch to the database if these are going to keep being brewed? What are we as a beer community going to do when the Germans counter with a 75% ABV beer and call it Armageddon?

Personally I’d say let ’em hang out and be a few outliers that engender debate, but I think you’ve got a reasonable argument for kicking them out. Since I don’t have a lot of personal stake in the database, I’ll leave that to those of you who do... I was just curious at what point (since there would have to be one) you felt they should go.

Neither do I, to be honest. I’m just bored and killing some time while waiting for my wife to get home so that we can hit the road on our road trip.

Where you headed (besides off topic)?

We’re doing a trip up the east coast to Halifax. It should be fun with a few stop offs along the way.

Nice - Hart and Thistle makes some great hoppy stuff in Halifax.

Good to know. I’m planning to hit Garrison while there as well.

Distillation to my mind, in conversation, means boiling.
Eisbocking to my mind, in conversation, means freezing.
