Message Skyview P admin beers 6263 º 09:40 Wed 9/7/2011 Ass Clown Brewing? Sure enough, they got a license from ATF. These new brewery names keep raising the bar of name aberrancy. I am wondering what some of the new brewery names will be like in five years from now.

Message CharmCityCrab beers 244 º 10:27 Wed 9/7/2011 Yeah, I don’t see myself buying a beer with "Ass Clown" in the name -- especially not beers that start with names like "Ass Clown Dark Chocolate". I don’t know what kind of dark chocolate comes from a clown’s ass, but I’m not drinking it. ;) Well, maybe if there was a really good deal on it (Knowing that despite the name, it actually has to meet normal sanitary standards for a consumable beverage and doesn’t really come from a clown’s ass). But, in general, I’ve got to say these type of names and labels are a deterrent to me buying something. I mean, I’m not sure I could drink something like "Moose Drool" without having a mental picture of animal saliva in my head. I like old-fashioned names and nice looking labels. There’s an occasional exception where I’ll say "Oh, cool, an orange peel with a face!", but for the most part you aren’t going to sell me on stuff that seems like it was created in an attempt to amuse middle school students. Even Flying Dog’s labels I think turn me off from buying the beer somewhat. I bought a mix pack like once or something. The artwork is viscerally disturbing. Alright, the dog-headed snake on their IPA is kind of cool. ;) But mostly...
