So the Android app has been out there for quite a while now, slowly gaining more users, up to around 10.000 last week. I was thinking of allowing translated versions of the app, since not everybody is fluent in English (even though the RB site is English only).

And then the app got featured in the app store and got 100.000 users in a couple of days...

As it happens most of those new users are also new to RB and come from all over the world. As a result, I got quite some people complaining (yeah, it’s the internet...) that the app is English only. Actually making translations is very easy, but I only speak English and Dutch (well, plus too little of German and French).

So here’s the question: would you be willing to help translate the app? It’s actually easy, as you head over to and pick you language (or create it if it doesn’t exist yet). Translate the strings (you don’t have to do them all at once) and hit save!

One small remark: be careful if you need to enter apostrophes. You need to add a backward slash before them. Apart from that all Unicode characters should be okay; just look at how the original English version is specified.

I, as well as current and future non-native English speakers, would be forever thankful to you. :)

Awesome! Save often, I’d say, so others can see what’s already there.

German finished. And, found something to edit in english:

"To send an error report, you need the free and open-source Log Collector application. Would you like to install it from the Android Market?"

Whoa, just looked through the translation page and the stuff people have been doing. That’s awesome!

Finished with the greek translation. Now you also have the ability to test a unicode environment.

Whoa, I’m not sure who translated some strings in Norwegian Bokmål (which makes you awesome!), but I learned from this that there are different Norwegian languages? Like, properly different, not like UK and US English?

If you like the app and haven’t rated it, leave a review in the market and flag other reviews as "helpful" or "not helpful" as appropriate. Some people are leaving one star reviews for bogus reasons.
