I’m guessing not because I’ve been multiple places in the Caribbean and while I was able to get some new ticks, I’ve not found anything worthwhile. I’ll be staying in Runaway Bay and if I even heard there was a worthy store to get some good beer, I’d go. It’s about 1/2 hour outside of Ocho Rios if that helps |
Last time I was there ticking beers was around Christmas and they had a nice selection of beers made with sorrel (spelling?). |
Drink the rum whilst in the Caribbean. If you only want beer, red stripe isn’t a terrible beer. Sorry I can’t help you out more than that. I think for craft beers it’s kind of a wasteland overall. |
apparently sorrel is just hibiscus. Sounds less cool, but damn were the drinks good. |
Most likely you can find Guinness Foreign Extra there, which is probably the most inoffensive beer you’re likely to find in the Caribbean in general. Quite a lot better than the watery dreck in nitro form, and I even like it better than the Belgian version based on a recent retry of that version. More roasty and bitter than one might expect. |
When I was there 20 years ago I drank a shit ton of Dragon Stout. It was a nice break from Red Stripe. It was an all inclusive resort with unlimited booze, always had a beer in hand. |
Is there a Jamaican brewed Guinness? |
One does not go to Jamaica for the beer. |

Originally posted by JK Yes and I liked it quite a bit when I was there in 2005. I also liked the Lion Heart Stout alright... But yeah, you’re in the Carribean. Drink rum. |
