I’ve always thought it odd that we might be called "beer snobs" when we encourage trying a wide variety of beer... drinking the same 2-3 beers and shunning all others seems much more like snobbery to me!
Fresh, hoppy beer can be quite wonderful, and it’s not all IPA. These days, a fresh, hoppy pils or German/Czech type lager are more my speed. It’s good to keep an open mind about whatever beer is in your glass.

For what its worth there are quite a few bourbon fans here too. We just don’t rate them.
Bourbon barrel aged beers quite often taste like bourbon and little else.
True, and this can be a good thing, no?. I always feel let down when I sample a whiskey barrel aged beer and can’t taste any of the whiskey. I’ve been cheated. These things are not cheap.
I am surprised to see I have only rated 14, and I’m surprised to see how many have been retired. Are there any on this list that are in regular year-round production?
