Ok folks - lets leave the original thread now and focus on the itinerary at just 5 weeks away.

I’ve ran the provisional below past our driver. He seems fairly comfortable with this and there ’may’ be scope to squeeze another venue in although I think there’s plenty to go at below.

I’ve focussed on some of the newer micro’s that we don’t see down south so much allied to some old favourites, although I’ve pencilled in more time in the ’newer’ places as we tend to get the likes of Holdens and Sarah Hughes at fests down here.

Remember - we can’t hit everywhere or spend oodles of time everywhere on an 8 hour crawl!

Room for tweaks and possibly another venue but here’s what I have so far ...

1.) Great Western, Wolverhampton (Holdens) 11.25 - 12.00

2.) Beacon Hotel, Sedgely (Sarah Hughes) 12.15 - 12.45

3.) Jolly Crispin, Gornal (Fownes) 12.50 - 14.00 (LUNCH STOP?)

4.) Duke William, Stourbridge(Craddocks) 14.20 - 15.20
http://www.ratebeer.com/Places/ShowPlace.asp?PlaceID=21204

5.) Windsor Castle, Lye (Sadlers) 15.25 - 16.25
http://www.ratebeer.com/Places/ShowPlace.asp?PlaceID=11566

6.) Waggon & Horses, Halesowen (Free) 16.35 - 17.50 (Buffet?)
http://www.ratebeer.com/Places/ShowPlace.asp?PlaceID=8441

7.) Cotteridge Wines (bottle shop) 18.15 - 18.40 refreshments for the train home !?!

8.) Wellington, Birmingham City Centre (Free/Black Country Ales) 19.05 - 19.50 (for the train sarf or stay as long as you want obviously!)

Also Rich has suggested a buffet at the Waggon at £6 a head. Optional of course but I’m definately game for soaking up some ale with cheese and meats!

Cheers,

Colin

Also, thanks for all your efforts, Colin.

That looks good. I think trying squeeze in anywhere else would be pushing it a bit. Getting 20 people served is going to take a fair while in itself and we don’t really want to spend most of the time at a particular pub waiting to be served and then necking the beer to get back on the bus.

Sounds good, and the travel times seem about right for a weekend.

I’m going to say 3 people for the buffet, if anyone wants the buffet then say here. We will see what the overall consensus is. Then I can get it booked with the Waggon.

Mini Update ...

I’ve been in touch with Cotteridge Wines and suggested a small tasting event with snacks etc for our visit.

They have kindly agreed and will be laying on some beers and nibbles.

I will look to tweak the final schedule to allow for a good 45 minutes or so at Cotteridge Wines.

Yeah - no panic

1945 from Wolves will be 20.00/20.05 ex New St

I will double check this nearer the time in case there’s engineering works, but this should be the case.
