@magicdave - the gist of the article is that this new spirit is AWESOME. It's a mixture of alchemy & apothecary yaddayaddayadda... |
So basically its a spirit that they’ve made out of a failed batch of brewdog beer? |
Originally posted by MagicDave6 From what I could gather, it’s freeze distilled, 35% ipa. I’m not sure what the difference is between the new one and STB other than the alcohol. Anyone know? |

Like many I have ignored the hype and got on with enjoying some very good beers! Except -not so much this year. Nothing from them has really rung my bell this year compared with some very decent brews last year. The IPA Deads were a pale shadow of the the previous 2 years. Also the prices are starting to wear me down. £18 for a pint of Abstrakt is outrageous but just about wearable. £8 for a pint of average wheat beer is beyond taking the piss. |
Started brewing in 2007: have 177 different beers listed on RB. |
It doesn’t seem that long ago (Jan 2011) that a crowd of us met up for a Brewdog (cask) minifest at Spoons in Holloway. Hardcore IPA went down a treat with the locals at £2 (ish) a pint. I don’t think that the Police were needed until quite late on that night. |
Had some Jack Hammer recently, which i was pretty impressed by. |
Originally posted by tommann If it’s made in the same way as the other BrewDog high strength stuff then it qualifies regardless of what they say in the bullshit. If you are going to make distilled spirits you have to have a special license from HMRC and the regulations/requirements are a lot more stringent than for brewing. Perhaps BrewDog have such a license. Dunno. |
Those keg prices are interesting. £164 for keg punk ..no wonder why it is expensive in bars. That’s going to be £4+ easily. |
