Used to have a dedicated beer fridge, but gave it to a homebrewer buddy. Now stickers pile up in a desk drawer, while I try to figure out what to do with them.

I love stickers, i put them on my beer fridge! But i hate it when a brewer thinks it’s reasonable to charge five dollars or more for a freakin sticker. I can get a pint for that price, and they probably paid only pennies for that sticker!

If you’re talking about a sticker from Heineken, you’re probably right.

But stickers are surprisingly expensive for people-scale businesses.

If they’re over 3.5" in any direction, full color, die cut and vinyl, a small business is likely paying over at least 70 cents each for an ordinary small business quantity. Factor in things like shipping, taxes on sale, income tax, display costs, employee time, costs for art and a retail price of several dollars just to break even makes sense.

Here’s an example

You can plug in numbers and see for yourself.

Stickers are very cool, but they also aren’t cheap.

I collect them. I started putting ones that I really like on a magnet sheet you can get from Hobby Lobby. That way I don’t lose them if my fridge dies, etc. Not really hard to do.

I’ve been getting multiples and plan to decorate a set of cornhole boards with them.

Just looked up Yo MTV Raps cards and kind of wish breweries would give those out instead.

I always grab them at festivals, brewery visits and bars if offered for free. They are put on our beer fridge and on the kegs in our brewing basement.

I’ve got a collection of them on the inside of my garage door. I also put them on my plastic tub of homebrewing equipment.

I pick them up at festivals and brewery visits. A coaster will satisfy me just as well. They are all stuck, nailed or stapled to the support beams in my basement. Like many others, I won’t pay for them, I’ll just swipe a coaster.
