I´d like to have some feedback about this Imp. Stout. The last batches i had where so problematic. They say they changed the yeast strain, but, despite that, in my opinion they´ve gone into some contamination problems. A hole case of 33cl bottle went down the sunk, and now i´m trying it on tap, where i don´t identify this acetic contamination, but found it too weak for a Russian Imp. Stout. |
Had a bommen & granaten recently. Don't think it was infected but it was not as it use to. Something was definitely different. |
Are you Disputin their quality control? |
I had a bottle that was about 3 yrs aged and while i dont think it was infected or anything, it was pretty much flat and not all that tasty. Considering the say cellar for up to 25 years, this was disappointing. |

Number 1 Dutch beer according to Ratebeer.com and this #001 bottle of the new batch will be captured in the concrete forever. Unless GodoftheCellar comes and digs it up in a couple of years! ![]() |

De molen is inconsistent quality wise. When their imperial stouts are on, they are some of the best in the world. But sadly over carbonation, infection, oxidation happen often. This report doesn’t surprise me and I highly doubt it is the result of a new yeast strain or new brewing facility. |

The older ones were quite good. I just had a fresher one with an acetic note. I definitely wouldn’t age that one. Maybe they have an Alvinne problem? |
Unless a brewery has invested in a state of the art bottling line, drink that stuff fresh? |
