Nice- just got back from lunch and am happy to see this got some discussion going. Lot of good points. I agree that the endeavor is a little silly and probably won’t be completely fulfilling when and if I actually achieve it, but it’s also a lot of fun. And while the Top 50 here doesn’t precisely line up with my favorites, I haven’t disliked any and have also found a lot of my own favorites along the way at tastings and whatnot. Also, I’d have a lot less if it weren’t for the incredible generosity of other RB members and my tasting group- from the top 50, my own top 50, and in general.

As for top 50 lists for individual styles, I don’t check those as often but have a pretty good rate for a lot of them. The only hole in my styles is Sake- I haven’t had one, ever.

I chase good beer and I’ve always used the ratebeer Top 50-100 as a resource. It’s as good as any.

Not anymore. Burned out on trading. Barely even go to special release parties anymore.

These days, just trying new stuff that’s fresh or available on the shelves is satisfying enough. Mix in an old favorite here and there and life is sweet.

Oddly, this doesn’t work out to be quite as big a cost savings as ya might hope.

I was a ruthless and notorious Top 50 chaser for years. Relentless. I’d stop at nothing to tick them all.

Then I did. All 50. I thought I’d feel a massive sense of accomplishment. I didn’t.

So happy to have that phase out of my system.

To each their own.

^^ These pretty much sum it up for me. ^^

I fairly actively attempt to track down top 50 wheat beers. The rankings give a pretty good suggestion to me if I will like them, but I find it comical that New Glarus Laughing Fox is the top rated Kristallweizen in the world, ahead of Weihenstephaner Kristall Weissbier no less.

I can hook you up. Need a growler or bottles? Bottles will be out in a couple weeks(or sooner).

I could do either but a growler would be preferred. Not sure what I can give in return.

They just find you I guess

Surprised I am still in the top 50 of top 50 beers rated with 41.
Guess a certain FLA brewer has not been making a bunch of one-offs lately.
